Eagles’ Rally Falls Short as UHSP Holds On for Upset Victory

ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — UHSP overcame a significant turnover disadvantage to upset Williams Baptist 81-75 in a men’s NAIA basketball game Saturday.

The Eagles, who entered with a 10-4 record, forced 25 turnovers and grabbed 20 offensive rebounds but could not overcome poor shooting. Williams Baptist shot just 33% from the floor and 11% from three-point range. Jesse Washington led the Eagles with 24 points.

UHSP, now 3-18, was carried by efficient offense, shooting 56% from the field. Landon Engelage posted a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Jasmin Suvalija added 21 points. Despite committing only four assists and four steals as a team, UHSP’s scoring accuracy proved decisive.
