Williams Baptist (AR) vs UHSP
ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — A surging Williams Baptist men’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak when it visits struggling UHSP in an NAIA matchup on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
The Eagles (10-3) have won five of their last six games, including a 106-94 road victory over Crowley’s Ridge on Tuesday. They boast one of the region’s most potent offenses, having scored 90 or more points in seven games this season. Their only recent setback was a 69-62 home loss to Hannibal-LaGrange on Jan. 23.
Williams Baptist is led by standout guard Deion Wesson, who is averaging 27.1 points over his last seven contests. He torched UHSP for 24 points in just 31 minutes during the teams’ first meeting this season, a 117-101 Eagles win on Jan. 10. Wesson is coming off a 33-point, 5-rebound performance against Crowley’s Ridge.
UHSP (2-18) snapped a six-game losing streak with a narrow 79-78 home win over Crowley’s Ridge on Thursday. The Eutectics have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 92.1 points per game.
Freshman forward Landon Engelage has been a bright spot for UHSP, scoring 26 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the recent win. He is averaging 22.2 points over his last five games, including a 33-point, 13-rebound effort in a loss to Mission University on Jan. 31.
The rematch presents a stark contrast in trajectories. Williams Baptist, averaging 91.2 points per game, will test a UHSP defense that allowed 117 points in the January encounter. The Eagles’ offensive balance was on display Tuesday, with Jesse Washington adding 25 points and Aseem Luckey contributing 16 points and eight rebounds alongside Wesson’s big night.
For UHSP, replicating its recent defensive effort against Crowley’s Ridge, while continuing to rely on Engelage’s scoring, will be essential to pull off an upset. The Eutectics will also need a stronger performance from supporting players like Bryant Odunayo and Brennen Walker, who combined for 21 points and 16 rebounds in Thursday’s victory.
Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at UHSP Gymnasium.
