Dillard (La.) vs Paul Quinn
TYLER, Texas (Interstat) — Two NAIA men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Thursday when the Dillard Bleu Devils visit the Paul Quinn Tigers at Gus F. Taylor Gymnasium.
The non-conference matchup features teams with struggling records. Dillard enters at 5-6 overall, while Paul Quinn sits at 3-7. Both are coming off overtime losses in their most recent outings.
Dillard fell 75-51 at Tougaloo on Jan. 8, a game where Shane Davis led the Bleu Devils with eight points, three rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. Davis’s production has fluctuated, as he was limited to just six minutes and one rebound in a Jan. 5 loss to William Carey. Tyler Wiley (12 points) and John Kelly III (seven rebounds) were also key contributors against Tougaloo.
Paul Quinn is looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking 84-82 overtime defeat to Philander Smith on Jan. 10. Isaiah McCallum was a force in that loss, scoring 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 34 minutes. McCallum has been a consistent performer, adding eight points in a blowout 107-53 win over Wiley on Jan. 8.
This game is a quick rematch of a Nov. 20 thriller, which Dillard won 64-56 in overtime at home. The Bleu Devils have lost three straight since that victory, while the Tigers are 1-2 in that same span, with their lone win a 54-point rout of Wiley.
For Dillard, this begins a two-game Texas road swing before returning to New Orleans. Paul Quinn opens a three-game homestand, facing Southern University at New Orleans on Saturday.
Tip-off is set for Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
