Southeast Missouri State Rallies Past Tennessee Tech in Second-Half Surge

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Interstat) — Southeast Missouri State used a dominant second half to pull away from Tennessee Tech for an 89-73 men’s basketball victory on Saturday at Show Me Center.

The Redhawks, who led 34-36 at halftime, exploded for 55 points after the break to secure the Ohio Valley Conference win before a crowd of 3,200. Dani Pounds scored 24 points for the Golden Eagles. Brendan Terry and Luke Almodovar each had 21 points for Southeast Missouri State, which improved to 19-12. Tennessee Tech fell to 13-18.

The Redhawks shot 53.4% from the field and committed only four turnovers. Their decisive run turned a narrow halftime edge into a comfortable victory, avenging a loss to the Golden Eagles in December.
