Saint Bonaventure at George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. (Interstat) — The George Mason Patriots, seeking to stabilize after a recent skid, will host the Saint Bonaventure Bonnies in an Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball matchup on Saturday at EagleBank Arena.

George Mason (21-7) enters the contest having lost four of its last five games, including a 63-81 defeat at Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday. Despite the slump, the Patriots boast a strong overall record and will look to rediscover their early-season form. A key to their success will be guard Riley Allenspach, who scored 23 points in the loss to Saint Joseph’s and had 16 points in a recent road win at Richmond.

Saint Bonaventure (15-13) arrives with momentum following a dominant 94-76 home victory over Rhode Island on Thursday. The Bonnies were led by a standout performance from forward Cayden Charles, who posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Charles has been a consistent force, averaging 17.4 points over his last five games.

This game is a rematch of a Jan. 31 meeting in Olean, New York, where George Mason secured a 77-73 victory. Allenspach contributed 9 points and 3 assists in that win for the Patriots, while Charles led the Bonnies with 13 points.

The matchup features contrasting recent trajectories. The Bonnies have shown offensive firepower, scoring 94 points in each of their last two outings, but have struggled for consistency with a 3-4 record in their last seven. The Patriots’ defense, which had been a strength during their 21-3 start, has allowed an average of 79.2 points during their 1-4 stretch.

A victory would bolster George Mason’s positioning for the upcoming Atlantic 10 tournament, while Saint Bonaventure aims to climb the conference standings and build a late-season resume.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at EagleBank Arena on the campus of George Mason University.
