Stetson at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. (Interstat) — Two ASUN Conference men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Central Arkansas Bears host the Stetson Hatters at the Farris Center.

Both squads enter the Jan. 3, 2026, matchup coming off narrow conference-opening victories this past Thursday. Central Arkansas (6-8) edged Florida Gulf Coast 85-83, while Stetson (5-9) secured a 70-67 road win at North Alabama.

The Bears will lean on forward Ty Robinson, who is coming off a dominant performance. Robinson scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win over Florida Gulf Coast, continuing a streak of strong play. Over his last five games, the standout is averaging 19.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.

Central Arkansas has found success at home this season, boasting a 5-1 record in Conway. Their lone home loss came in overtime against Samford in November. The Bears’ offense has been potent in victories, averaging 88 points in their six wins, but has struggled in losses.

Stetson aims to build on its first road victory of the season, which snapped a three-game losing skid. The Hatters’ season has been marked by offensive challenges, particularly away from home. In road losses to Oklahoma, South Carolina, Grand Canyon and Robert Morris in December, Stetson failed to score more than 65 points.

The Hatters’ defense, however, was key in the win at North Alabama, holding their opponent to 67 points. Replicating that defensive effort will be critical against a Central Arkansas team that shoots 48% from the field at home.

Historically, the Bears have controlled the series, winning 10 of the 14 all-time meetings. Central Arkansas swept the two-game series last season.

Following this contest, Central Arkansas hits the road for conference games at Bellarmine and Eastern Kentucky next week. Stetson returns home to host Lipscomb and Austin Peay.
