Texas at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — A pivotal late-season Southeastern Conference men’s basketball clash is set for Wednesday night as the Arkansas Razorbacks host the Texas Longhorns at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks (21-8), looking to solidify their NCAA tournament seeding, aim to rebound from a lopsided 111-77 road loss at Florida last Saturday. Despite that defeat, Arkansas has won seven of its last 10 games. Forward Billy Richmond has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 20.1 points over his last seven contests, including a 25-point performance in a win over Auburn.

The visiting Longhorns (18-11) arrive with momentum after a 76-70 road victory at Texas A&M. Guard Tramon Mark led the way with 23 points in that win, continuing a streak of strong performances. Texas has shown resilience, going 5-2 in its last seven games, but faces a tough test in one of the league’s most hostile environments.

This matchup features a contrast in recent trajectories. Arkansas’s potent offense, which scored 115 points in a double-overtime loss at Alabama, will challenge a Texas team seeking a signature road win to bolster its postseason resume. The Longhorns will lean on Mark and guard Jordan Pope, who scored 17 against the Aggies, to counter the Razorbacks’ firepower.

The game carries significant weight for both teams’ conference standings and postseason positioning. Arkansas won the first meeting this season, 79-72, in Austin on Jan. 10.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CST Wednesday. Texas returns home to face Oklahoma on Saturday, while Arkansas travels to Missouri.
