Santa Clara Routs Oregon State Behind Second-Half Surge
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Interstat) — Santa Clara pulled away after halftime to defeat Oregon State 93-72 in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Saturday at Leavey Center.
The Broncos, who led 38-33 at intermission, erupted for 55 second-half points. Their efficient offense, which made 13 3-pointers and 20 of 24 free throws, proved too much for the Beavers. Santa Clara improved to 24-7, while Oregon State fell to 16-15.
Johan Munch led Oregon State with 19 points. Santa Clara’s Brenton Knapper also scored 19, and Allen Graves added 14 points off the bench. The Broncos swept the season series, having beaten the Beavers by 38 points in December.
