Texas A&M at Georgia
Preview: Texas A&M Visits Georgia in Key SEC Matchup
ATHENS, Ga. (Interstat) — Two of the Southeastern Conference’s hottest teams will meet Saturday when the Texas A&M Aggies visit the Georgia Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum.
Both squads enter with identical 5-2 records in conference play, creating a logjam near the top of the league standings. Texas A&M (16-4 overall) has won six of its last seven, including a dominant 92-69 victory over South Carolina last Saturday. Georgia (16-5) has won four of its last six, but is coming off a heartbreaking 86-85 overtime loss to Tennessee on Wednesday.
The Aggies have been fueled by efficient offense and a deep rotation. In the win over South Carolina, senior forward Zach Clemence erupted for 21 points in just 14 minutes off the bench, showcasing the team’s potent scoring options. Clemence is averaging 12.7 points over his last three games. He is complemented by guards Rylan Griffen and Jacari Lane, who combined for 24 points and 12 assists in that contest.
Georgia will counter with its own high-scoring guard in Marcus Millender. The junior is coming off a 19-point, 4-assist performance against Tennessee and has been a consistent force, scoring 18 or more points in four of his last seven outings. His backcourt battle with Texas A&M’s playmakers will be pivotal.
The Bulldogs have shown resilience, winning three overtime games this season, but face an Aggies team that has been strong on the road with victories at Auburn and Texas already in SEC play. Texas A&M’s defense, which held South Carolina to 39% shooting, will be tested by a Georgia offense averaging 83.2 points per game at home.
This matchup carries significant weight for postseason positioning. A win would give either team a valuable resume boost and sole possession of second place in the conference.
Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 6 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
