Idaho at Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. (Interstat) — A late-season Big Sky Conference men’s basketball matchup with contrasting momentum arrives at Reese Court on Monday, March 2, 2026, as the Eastern Washington Eagles host the Idaho Vandals.

Idaho (16-14 overall) enters looking to steady itself after a 67-76 home loss to Northern Colorado on Saturday snapped a two-game win streak. The Vandals have been inconsistent, going 4-5 in their last nine contests.

Eastern Washington (13-17), however, is surging. The Eagles have won seven consecutive games, including an 88-57 rout of Northern Arizona on Saturday, marking their longest win streak of the season.

The matchup features two of the league’s top offensive talents. Idaho’s player to watch is guard Jackson Rasmussen, who is averaging 16.2 points over his last five games, including a 19-point performance in a win over Northern Arizona on Feb. 26. For Eastern Washington, guard Alton Hamilton has been a catalyst during the win streak, averaging 19.3 points in his last three outings and dropping 23 points in Saturday’s victory.

The teams’ first meeting this season was a nail-biter, with Idaho edging Eastern Washington 84-81 in Moscow on Jan. 3.

This rematch carries implications for conference tournament seeding. Idaho seeks to improve its position and regain winning form, while Eastern Washington aims to continue its remarkable second-half turnaround and defend its home court. The Eagles’ recent defensive intensity, holding opponents under 60 points twice during the streak, will be tested by a Vandal offense that has shown high-scoring potential.

Monday’s tipoff is set for 6 p.m. PST at Reese Court.
