NACOGDOCHES, Texas (Interstat) — Stephen F. Austin used a strong first half to build a cushion and held off a second-half surge by McNeese State for a 67-60 men’s basketball victory Monday night at William R. Johnson Coliseum.

The Lumberjacks led 31-19 at halftime before the Cowboys rallied after the break. Keon Thompson led all scorers with 21 points for Stephen F. Austin, which improved to 20-3. Jerrell Colbert scored 14 points and Tyshawn Archie added 16 points and six assists for McNeese State, which fell to 18-5. An attendance of 5,687 watched the rematch after McNeese State won the prior meeting on Jan. 5.
