Dartmouth at Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two teams riding the momentum of high-scoring performances will meet Saturday when Cornell hosts Dartmouth in an Ivy League men’s basketball matchup at Newman Arena.

Both the Big Red and the Big Green enter with identical 7-7 overall records, each coming off a game where they cracked 99 points, albeit with opposite results. Cornell (7-7) fell 104-99 to Columbia on Monday in a shootout, while Dartmouth (7-7) secured a 76-68 road win at Harvard the same night.

The game features a compelling backcourt duel between two of the conference’s top guards. Dartmouth’s Connor Amundsen is coming off an 18-point, four-assist effort in the win at Harvard, a performance that capped a stretch where he averaged 7.2 assists over a five-game period. His playmaking will be central to the Big Green’s attack.

Cornell will counter with Cooper Noard, who poured in 23 points and dished five assists against Columbia. Noard has been a consistent scoring threat, averaging 22.3 points over his last three games against Division I opponents, including a 25-point outing at Albany and 19 at Michigan State.

Both teams have shown potent offenses but have struggled defensively at times. Cornell averages 94.1 points per game but allows 90.6. Dartmouth scores 80.6 per contest but gives up 75.9. The Big Red’s pace will be tested by a Dartmouth team that has shown resilience on the road, winning at Holy Cross and Harvard in recent weeks.

For Cornell, protecting home court is crucial as it embarks on a challenging early Ivy schedule that sees its next three games on the road. Dartmouth aims to build on its first conference win and establish a winning record.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Newman Arena. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
