Struggling Summit League Foes Meet as Oral Roberts Visits UMKC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to end difficult seasons on a positive note will meet Saturday when the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles face the Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos in a Summit League men’s basketball matchup at Municipal Auditorium.

The game, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2026, pits teams with a combined 11-46 record. Oral Roberts (7-22, 3-11 Summit) arrives with slightly more momentum, having snapped a four-game losing streak with a 67-62 home win over South Dakota last Saturday. UMKC (4-24, 2-12) has lost nine consecutive games, most recently a 95-59 defeat at North Dakota State.

The Golden Eagles will lean on guard Ty Harper, who has been a consistent offensive force. He scored 29 points in the win over South Dakota and averages 22.4 points over his last seven games. Harper was also key in the first meeting between these teams on Feb. 12, scoring 14 points in a 69-60 Oral Roberts victory in Tulsa.

The Kangaroos, who have lost by an average of 24.2 points during their skid, will look for a spark from guard Kasheem Grady. He led UMKC with 15 points in the loss to NDSU. Team defense remains a pressing issue, as opponents have scored 95 or more points against UMKC four times in the last nine games.

Both teams are near the bottom of the conference standings and will be playing for pride and positioning ahead of the upcoming Summit League tournament. Oral Roberts has won three of its seven games this calendar year, while UMKC’s last victory was on Jan. 28.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST at Municipal Auditorium.
