COMMERCE, Texas (Interstat) — McNeese State delivered a commanding performance Saturday, defeating Texas A&M-Commerce 97-54 in a Southland Conference men’s basketball game at Texas A&M-Commerce Field House.

The Cowboys (21-5) never trailed, building a 45-29 halftime lead before extending their advantage with a 52-point second half. Javohn Garcia led all scorers with 21 points for McNeese State, while Garwey Dual added 14 points and five assists. The Cowboys shot 54.5% from the field and forced 15 turnovers, converting them into 30 points.

Ronnie Harrison scored 19 points for the Lions (10-17), who shot just 34.6% overall. An announced crowd of 502 watched as McNeese State swept the season series, having won the previous meeting 102-66 on Dec. 12.
