Saint Bonaventure at Dayton
Preview: Bonnies, Flyers Meet in Key Atlantic 10 Clash
DAYTON, Ohio (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt slides in Atlantic 10 Conference play will meet Tuesday when the Saint Bonaventure Bonnies visit the Dayton Flyers.
The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST at University of Dayton Arena.
Saint Bonaventure (13-9, 3-6 A-10) enters having lost seven of its last nine, including a 77-73 home loss to George Mason on Saturday. Dayton (14-7, 4-5) has dropped four straight, most recently a 102-71 road defeat at Saint Louis last Friday.
The Bonnies will lean on guard Frank Mitchell, who is coming off a 25-point performance against George Mason. Over his last eight games, Mitchell has averaged 17.8 points, including three outings of 22 points or more. Support comes from Dasonte Bowen, who dished out eight assists in the last game, and Cayden Charles.
The Flyers counter with guard De’Shayne Montgomery, their leading scorer during this skid. Montgomery averaged 18.4 points over the five-game stretch preceding the Saint Louis loss, where he still managed 23 points. He will need help from a roster that has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 84.5 points during the four-game losing streak.
Both teams are mired in the middle of the congested A-10 standings and desperately need a win to rebuild momentum for the final month of the regular season. Dayton holds a slight historical edge at home in the series, but the Bonnies won the last meeting, 72-71, in overtime on Feb. 28, 2025.
Following this game, Saint Bonaventure travels to Fordham on Saturday. Dayton hits the road for a matchup at VCU on Friday.
