Utah Edges Texas Christian in High-Efficiency Offensive Showcase
SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — Terrence Brown scored 26 points to lead Utah to an 82-79 victory over Texas Christian in a men’s NCAA basketball game Saturday at Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The Utes improved to 9-9, while the Horned Frogs fell to 11-7 before a crowd of 6,544. Utah built a 38-30 halftime lead behind early scoring from Keanu Dawes and Seydou Traore. TCU surged in the second half, tying the game late behind David Punch’s 22 points, but Brown’s clutch free throws sealed the win.
Both teams shot over 50% from the floor. Utah’s 9-for-24 performance from three-point range proved decisive, offsetting TCU’s 52-36 advantage in paint points and superior assist and steal totals. The combined score fell under the projected over/under line of 152.5.
