North Alabama at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — Two ASUN Conference men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Bellarmine Knights host the North Alabama Lions at Knights Hall.

Both teams enter the contest on the heels of narrow conference results on Thursday. Bellarmine (6-9, 1-1 ASUN) earned an 84-78 overtime victory over Central Arkansas, powered by 20 points from Kenyon Goodin. North Alabama (5-9, 0-2) fell 88-80 at Eastern Kentucky despite a 24-point effort from standout guard Canin Jefferson.

Jefferson has been a bright spot for the struggling Lions, averaging 16.6 points over his last five games. He will be a primary focus for a Bellarmine defense that has shown inconsistency, allowing an average of 84.2 points in its last five outings.

The Knights counter with forward Brian Waddell, who is coming off a 15-point, three-block performance in the win over Central Arkansas. Waddell has provided steady scoring, reaching double figures in five of his last six games, including a 19-point effort at West Georgia.

North Alabama’s season has been defined by close losses, with three of their last four defeats coming by single digits, including a 70-67 home loss to Stetson on Jan. 1. Bellarmine has also endured tight contests, with an 87-85 loss at West Georgia and the overtime win Thursday.

Historically, the home court has been significant in this series. The Knights will look to capitalize on the advantage in their distinctive on-campus venue, Knights Hall, as both teams jockey for early positioning in the conference standings. For North Alabama, the game represents a critical opportunity to halt a five-game skid and secure its first ASUN win. For Bellarmine, it’s a chance to build a winning streak and climb above .500 in league play.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026.
