Georgia Bulldogs Dominate West Georgia Wolves in Nonconference Tuneup
ATHENS, Ga. (Interstat) — Georgia cruised to a 103-74 men’s basketball victory over West Georgia on Monday afternoon at Stegeman Coliseum. The Bulldogs, now 11-1, used a balanced offensive attack and stifling defense to pull away from the Wolves before a crowd of 10,523.
Jeremiah Wilkinson led Georgia with 19 points. Somto Cyril added 15 points and four blocked shots. Georgia scored 52 points in the paint and forced 24 points off turnovers to control the game throughout.
West Georgia, which fell to 6-6, was led by its second-half effort but could not overcome a 46-38 halftime deficit. The Bulldogs shot efficiently from the floor and capitalized on transition opportunities, outscoring the Wolves 33-26 on fast breaks. Georgia next hosts Long Island on Dec. 29.
