JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Interstat) — Brent Bland scored 27 points to lead Saint Peter’s to a 93-83 men’s basketball victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday at Yanitelli Center. The Peacocks improved to 1-1, while the Knights fell to 0-2.

Saint Peter’s used a balanced attack and efficient offense, posting an offensive rating of 122.7. The Peacocks built a 38-29 halftime lead and maintained it despite a 54-point second-half surge from Fairleigh Dickinson. Saint Peter’s capitalized at the free-throw line, making 21 of 27 attempts, and forced 17 Knights turnovers. Bryce Eaton added 13 points and eight assists for the Peacocks.
