Golden Panthers Upset Bulldogs in Conference USA Road Win
RUSTON, La. (Interstat) — Florida International used a sharp-shooting performance from beyond the arc to secure an 84-76 road victory over Louisiana Tech in a Conference USA men’s basketball game Saturday at the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Golden Panthers connected on 13 of 23 three-point attempts, a 56.5% rate that proved decisive. Both teams made 25 field goals, but FIU’s long-range efficiency created separation. Corey Stephenson led Florida International with 21 points, supported by Zawdie Jackson’s 17. Jaylen Fenner scored a game-high 25 points for the Bulldogs in the loss.
Florida International improved to 14-15 overall. Louisiana Tech fell to 16-13. An announced crowd of 2,265 watched the Golden Panthers sweep the regular-season series.
