Arizona Dominates Oklahoma State to Remain Undefeated

TUCSON, Ariz. (Interstat) — The top-ranked Arizona Wildcats, the nation’s last remaining undefeated team, delivered a defensive masterclass that suffocated the Oklahoma State Cowboys from start to finish in an 84-47 victory Saturday afternoon at a sold-out McKale Center.

Arizona improved to 23-0 overall and remained perfect in Big 12 play, while Oklahoma State fell to 16-7. The Wildcats’ defense was the unequivocal story, holding the Cowboys to a historically poor shooting night. Oklahoma State connected on just 15 of 61 field goal attempts, a frigid 24.6 percent, and made only 6 of 28 from three-point range. Their offensive struggles were encapsulated by an efficiency rating of 63.6 points per 100 possessions.

The game’s decisive stretch came early, as Arizona’s length and activity completely disrupted Oklahoma State’s offensive flow. The Cowboys missed their first 11 shots from the field and did not record a made basket until a Christian Coleman dunk with 16:40 remaining in the first half. By that point, Arizona had already established a 10-point lead.

The Wildcats, conversely, exploited their massive advantage inside. They outscored Oklahoma State 54-14 in the paint and outrebounded them 49-35. Arizona shot 51.6 percent from the floor, with much of their damage coming on high-percentage looks around the rim, as they attempted only 14 three-pointers, making two.

Jaden Bradley led a balanced Arizona attack with 13 points and four assists, setting the tone with his pace and playmaking. Brayden Burries added 15 points, while Anthony Dell’Orso contributed 11 points. The Wildcats’ depth was on full display, with Koa Peat scoring 11, Motiejus Krivas adding 10, and Tobe Awaka providing significant energy off the bench with eight points and three blocks.

Oklahoma State, which entered the game having won three of its last four, including a high-scoring victory over BYU, never found any offensive rhythm. Kanye Clary led the Cowboys with seven points, but shot 1 for 8 from the field. Parsa Fallah was held to eight points on 3-of-10 shooting. As a team, the Cowboys compounded their shooting woes by making only 11 of 23 free throws.

Arizona led 40-22 at halftime and only extended its dominance after the break. The Wildcats opened the second half on a 7-2 run, pushing the lead to 23 points and effectively ending any remote hope of a comeback. They continued to convert Oklahoma State’s 12 turnovers into 16 points and outscored the Cowboys 23-11 in fastbreak opportunities.

The most important sequence of the game occurred in the opening five minutes, where Arizona’s defensive intensity set the entire evening’s narrative. Oklahoma State’s initial possessions resulted in a series of contested jumpers, blocks, and steals, allowing the Wildcats to build a lead that the offensively challenged Cowboys could never realistically challenge.

The announced crowd of 14,688 watched as Arizona methodically dismantled a respectable opponent, showcasing why they are the nation’s premier team. The Wildcats now turn their attention to a monumental Big 12 showdown at Kansas on Monday. Oklahoma State will look to regroup quickly, traveling to face Arizona State on Tuesday.
