TROY, Ala. (Interstat) — Troy avenged a loss from earlier this month with a dominant 99-74 victory over Arkansas State in a Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Trojan Arena.

The Trojans (13-6) used a high-efficiency offense, shooting 55.7% from the floor and 90.5% from the free-throw line to pull away. Victor Valdes led Troy with 17 points and 14 assists. Thomas Dowd added 24 points and Jerrell Bellamy scored 22.

The Red Wolves (12-7) were led by TJ Caldwell’s 17 points but struggled with just three assists as a team. Troy built a 44-35 halftime lead and extended it with a 55-point second half in front of 3,321 fans.
