Syracuse at Boston College
Preview: Syracuse Orange at Boston College Eagles
NEWTON, Mass. (Interstat) — A surging Syracuse team visits a struggling Boston College squad in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball matchup Saturday at Silvio O. Conte Forum.
The Orange (11-5, 3-1 ACC) enter on a three-game conference winning streak, most recently defeating Florida State 94-86 at home Tuesday. Forward Donnie Freeman has been the catalyst, averaging 23.0 points over the last four games. He scored 25 points in the win over the Seminoles and is coming off a stretch of 22, 27 and 18 points in prior contests.
Syracuse’s recent success has been fueled by efficient offense, scoring at least 82 points in each game during its current streak. Guard Naithan George facilitated the attack with 13 assists against Florida State.
Conversely, the Eagles (7-10, 0-4) are searching for their first ACC victory amid a four-game conference losing skid. Boston College is coming off a 74-50 road loss at Clemson on Tuesday, where offensive struggles were pronounced.
Guard Fred Payne has been a bright spot for Boston College, scoring 20 or more points in three of the last five games, including 22 points in a loss at Louisville and 24 against NC State. However, the Eagles have averaged just 59.0 points during their four ACC defeats.
The matchup pits Syracuse’s momentum against a Boston College team desperate to defend its home court and reverse its fortunes in league play. The Orange have shown improved form since a narrow loss to Clemson on New Year’s Eve, while the Eagles’ last win came against non-conference opponent Le Moyne on Dec. 28.
After this game, Syracuse hosts Virginia Tech on Jan. 21. Boston College remains home to face Pittsburgh on Jan. 21.
Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.
