HOUSTON (Interstat) — The Houston Cougars edged the Texas Tech Red Raiders 69-65 in a Big 12 Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at Hofheinz Pavilion.

The teams were tied at 31 at halftime before Houston used a stronger second half to secure the victory before a crowd of 7,035. The win improved Houston’s record to 14-1 this season, while Texas Tech fell to 11-4. Houston had been a heavy pregame favorite according to analytics projections. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Lubbock on Jan. 24.
