NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — Jacksonville State held off a late Delaware rally to secure a 67-64 victory in a Conference USA men’s basketball game Friday at Bob Carpenter Center. The Gamecocks led 36-31 at halftime and maintained a narrow advantage throughout the second half. The Blue Hens closed the gap in the final minutes but could not complete the comeback. Jacksonville State improved to 7-6 overall, while Delaware fell to 4-9. The Gamecocks’ win defied a close pregame spread where they were favored by 1.5 points. The total points scored finished just under the projected over/under line.
