WILMINGTON, N.C. (Interstat) — The Navy men’s basketball team looks to get back to .500 when it hosts Southeastern Louisiana in a non-conference matchup Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Midshipmen (4-4) are coming off an 87-57 road loss to UNC Wilmington on Friday. Austin Benigni led Navy with 25 points in the defeat.

Southeastern Louisiana (2-5) arrives with momentum after snapping a five-game skid with a 76-68 victory at Gardner-Webb, also on Friday. Seth Jones scored a team-high 18 points in the win, while Isaiah Gaines nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Both teams faced UNC Wilmington this week in a multi-team event, with the host Seahawks defeating the Lions 70-57 on Wednesday before routing the Midshipmen.

Navy has shown a stark contrast in results, boasting a 3-0 record at home with an average margin of victory of 29 points, but struggling to a 1-4 mark on the road. This contest is designated as a home game for the Midshipmen despite being played at a neutral site.

The Lions will aim to build on their first road win of the season and secure consecutive victories for the first time this year.
