Saint Peter`s at Delaware
NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win over a Division I opponent will meet Tuesday when the Saint Peter’s Peacocks face the Delaware Blue Hens at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Saint Peter’s (1-2) earned its sole victory against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 8 but fell 78-61 at VCU in its last outing. Brent Bland led the Peacocks with 25 points in that loss.
Delaware (0-3) is still searching for its first win under first-year coach Christina (Note for editor: name should be verified, as “Christina” is atypical for a men’s team) after dropping its opener to Wilmington and most recently losing 85-68 at BYU. Christian Bliss and Macon Emory each scored 18 points for the Blue Hens in the defeat.
Both teams have struggled offensively early in the season. The Peacocks are averaging 68.0 points per game, while the Blue Hens are putting up 66.7 points per contest.
The game marks the start of a two-game homestand for Delaware, while Saint Peter’s continues a stretch of four of its first five games on the road.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
