RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — Darrion Williams scored 28 points and Tre Holloman added 25 to lead North Carolina State to an 85-79 win over VCU in a nonconference men’s basketball game Monday night at Lenovo Center. The Wolfpack remained undefeated this season.

North Carolina State used a strong performance at the free-throw line, making 27 of 31 attempts, to hold off the Rams. VCU, which got 18 points from Barry Evans, kept the game close by forcing 15 Wolfpack turnovers but ultimately fell short. A crowd of 14,805 watched the contest.
