VCU at North Carolina State
RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — The unbeaten North Carolina State Wolfpack will put their high-powered offense to the test Monday when they host the VCU Rams at Lenovo Center.
The Wolfpack (3-0) have dominated their early-season competition, winning each game by at least 24 points. They are coming off a 110-64 rout of UNC Greensboro on Wednesday, fueled by a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds from Darrion Williams. Paul McNeil added 27 points in the victory.
VCU (2-1) arrives in Raleigh after a 78-61 win over Saint Peter’s. The Rams saw balanced scoring with Barry Evans (11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists), Lazar Djokovic (11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Terrence Hill (13 points) leading the way. Their season includes a 103-point offensive explosion against Wagner and a narrow 80-77 loss to Utah State.
The game represents a significant early-season challenge for both teams. For the Rams, it’s a chance to secure a major non-conference road victory against an ACC opponent. For the Wolfpack, it’s an opportunity to validate their hot start against a respected program from the Atlantic 10 Conference.
North Carolina State’s upcoming schedule is daunting, with a matchup against Kansas looming on Dec. 13. VCU will look to carry momentum from this contest into a home game against Coppin State on Saturday.
