Akron at Purdue
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Interstat) — Two undefeated teams will clash Sunday when the Akron Zips visit the Purdue Boilermakers at Mackey Arena.
Both teams enter the nonconference matchup with 3-0 records. Akron, coming off a 109-51 rout of Penn St.-Shenango on Wednesday, has won its games by an average of 33.7 points. Shammah Scott leads a balanced attack after posting 18 points and eight assists in the team’s last outing.
Purdue, however, presents a significant step up in competition. The Boilermakers are fresh from an 87-80 road victory over Alabama on Thursday. Braden Smith scored 29 points in that win, while Trey Kaufman-Renn recorded a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
The game marks the first meeting between the programs. For Akron, it is the start of a challenging stretch before Mid-American Conference play begins. Purdue will use it as a final tune-up before heading to the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in The Bahamas.
Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.
