Louisiana-Lafayette at McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, La. (Interstat) — The McNeese State Cowboys, fresh off a record-setting offensive performance, will host the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in a non-conference men’s basketball game on Friday at Burton Coliseum.

McNeese State (2-1) is coming off a 132-50 rout of Biblical Studies on Monday, where Larry Johnson scored 25 points in just 15 minutes. The Cowboys also have a 127-point game this season but fell 79-67 on the road to a tough Santa Clara team.

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2) looks to rebound from a narrow 66-62 home loss to Tulane on Tuesday. Jaxon Olvera led the Ragin’ Cajuns with 19 points in that contest. Their lone win came against Southeastern Louisiana, 58-52, on Nov. 7.

The game represents a step up in competition for the Cowboys after two lopsided home victories. For the Ragin’ Cajuns, it’s the final tune-up before a challenging West Coast road trip that begins at Stanford on Nov. 18. McNeese State will travel to Canada for a multi-team event after this contest.
