Virginia Military Institute at Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. (Interstat) — The Missouri Tigers will look to build on a dominant season-opening win when they host the high-scoring Virginia Military Institute Keydets on Sunday at Mizzou Arena.

Both teams enter the nonconference matchup 1-0. Missouri opened its season with an 88-67 road victory over Howard on Monday. The Tigers were led by Shawn Phillips, who posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in just 19 minutes of play. Jayden Stone added 13 points and Mark Mitchell chipped in nine points and six rebounds.

VMI arrives in Columbia after a spectacular offensive display, routing JWU Charlotte 122-58 in its opener on Monday. Junior Mario Tatum poured in 23 points in that win, while TJ Johnson scored 19 and Tan Yildizoglu recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.

The game represents a significant step up in competition for the Keydets, who face a Power Five opponent for the first time this season. For the Tigers, it is the first of six straight home games before a challenging road test at Notre Dame on Dec. 2.

Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
