Montana State at Northern Arizona
BOBCATS, LUMBERJACKS MEET IN BIG SKY SHOWDOWN
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Interstat) — A surging Montana State squad looks to solidify its standing against a struggling Northern Arizona team when the Bobcats visit the Lumberjacks in a Big Sky Conference men’s basketball game Monday night.
Montana State (17-13 overall) enters the Walkup Skydome having won three of its last four, including a dominant 82-61 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday. The Bobcats’ offense has been potent, averaging 80.3 points during that four-game stretch.
Northern Arizona (10-20) seeks to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 88-57 loss at Eastern Washington. The Lumberjacks have found wins scarce, dropping eight of their last ten contests.
The matchup features a stark contrast in recent form. Montana State defeated Northern Arizona 77-68 in Bozeman on Jan. 3. Bobcats guard Seth Amunrud, coming off a 21-point performance in 38 minutes against Sacramento State, has been a key scorer. He averaged 21.5 points in two games last week, though his production has fluctuated on the road.
Northern Arizona will lean on guard Isaiah Shaw, who provided a bright spot with 13 points in the loss to Eastern Washington. His playing time and output have been inconsistent, but he is coming off one of his more active performances.
For Montana State, Jeremiah Davis (16 points vs. Sacramento State) and Jed Miller (18 points, 6 assists) offer additional firepower. Northern Arizona’s Chris Komin, who had 8 points and 3 assists last outing, will need to help shoulder the load.
Montana State has shown resilience on the road this season, including a win at rival Montana on Feb. 14. Northern Arizona has struggled at home recently, with its last victory in Flagstaff coming against Sacramento State on Feb. 14.
The Bobcats are favored by 5.5 points, with the total points over/under set at 142.5.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST at the Walkup Skydome. The game marks the final week of the regular season for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming Big Sky tournament.
