Lipscomb at Eastern Kentucky

RICHMOND, Ky. (Interstat) — The Lipscomb Bisons look to solidify their position in the ASUN Conference standings when they visit the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Saturday at McBrayer Arena.

Lipscomb (18-12) enters the regular-season finale having won two of its last three, though it is coming off an 84-77 road loss to West Georgia on Wednesday. The Bisons have been strong at home but are just 5-8 in true road games this season. They previously defeated Eastern Kentucky 75-61 in Nashville on Feb. 11.

Eastern Kentucky (11-19) seeks to close a difficult season on a high note at home. The Colonels have lost two straight, including a 96-79 defeat to Queens (N.C.) on Wednesday. They have shown resilience at McBrayer Arena, however, with recent overtime wins over West Georgia and Bellarmine this month.

A key matchup will feature Lipscomb forward Grant Asman against Eastern Kentucky’s Montavious Myrick. Asman, a consistent scoring threat, averaged 16.3 points over his last three games and scored 12 points in the first meeting with EKU. Myrick provides a spark for the Colonels, averaging 15.2 points over his last five contests. He was held to seven points in the loss at Lipscomb earlier this month.

The Bisons have relied on balanced scoring behind Asman, with guards Mateo Esmeraldo and Ross Candelino contributing. Eastern Kentucky will need a strong performance from Jalen Cooper, who had 14 points in the midweek loss, to complement Myrick.

With postseason seeding on the line for Lipscomb, the Bisons aim to sweep the season series. Eastern Kentucky, playing for pride and senior day sentiment, will look to disrupt those plans and build momentum heading into the offseason.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
