SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Interstat) — Zion Sensley scored 19 points and Aidan Mahaney added 21 as UC Santa Barbara defeated UC Riverside 70-59 in a men’s basketball game Thursday night at Thunderdome.

The Gauchos led 39-27 at halftime and maintained a double-digit advantage for most of the second half before a crowd of 2,026. UC Santa Barbara improved to 18-11 overall, while the Highlanders fell to 9-21.

Andrew Henderson led UC Riverside with 17 points. The Gauchos shot 44.2% from the field and outscored the Highlanders 19-17 from the free-throw line. UC Riverside struggled from three-point range, making just 2 of 16 attempts.
