Kansas State at Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) — Two Big 12 teams looking to halt slides will meet Saturday when TCU hosts Kansas State at Dickies Arena.

The Horned Frogs (13-9) have dropped three of their last four, including an 87-61 road loss to Colorado on Feb. 1. TCU will look to rebound behind forward Xavier Edmonds, who recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in that defeat. Edmonds has been a consistent interior force, averaging 18.3 points over his last four games.

They face a Kansas State squad mired in a deeper slump. The Wildcats (10-12) have lost seven of their last eight, most recently a 95-61 home defeat to Iowa State on Feb. 1. Their struggles persist despite stellar individual efforts from guard PJ Haggerty, who scored 23 points with nine rebounds in that loss. Haggerty has been a lone bright spot, averaging 24.1 points over his last seven contests.

This matchup, a conference game played at TCU’s city-based arena, represents a critical juncture for both programs. TCU seeks to solidify its positioning for postseason consideration, while Kansas State desperately needs a signature conference win to salvage its season trajectory.

The teams will meet again in Manhattan on Feb. 28, but Saturday’s focus is immediate. TCU aims to leverage its home-city advantage and superior record, while Kansas State hopes Haggerty’s high-volume scoring can finally translate into a road victory.
