Wilson Leads North Carolina’s Second-Half Rally to Stun Duke
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — Caleb Wilson scored 23 points as North Carolina erased a 12-point halftime deficit to beat Duke 71-68 in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at the Dean Smith Center.
The Tar Heels, trailing 41-29 at halftime, outscored the Blue Devils 42-27 after intermission before a crowd of 21,750. Duke’s Cameron Boozer led all scorers with 24 points. The Blue Devils dominated inside with 36 paint points but were undone by North Carolina’s 11-of-14 shooting from the free-throw line.
The victory improved North Carolina to 19-4 overall, while Duke fell to 21-2. The teams meet again in the regular-season finale on March 7 at Duke.
