Old Dominion at Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas (Interstat) — The Texas State Bobcats, seeking consistency in Sun Belt play, will host the struggling Old Dominion Monarchs on Saturday at Strahan Coliseum.

Texas State (12-11) enters the contest following a 72-68 home victory over Marshall on Wednesday. The Bobcats have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. Guard Mark Drone has been a key offensive catalyst, averaging 17.4 points over his last five appearances, including a 24-point performance at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 22.

Old Dominion (7-15) snapped a three-game skid with a 75-71 road win at Arkansas State on Wednesday. The Monarchs have found recent success away from home, winning three of their last five road games despite their overall record. They are led by guard Jordan Battle, who is coming off a 20-point, six-assist effort in the win over Arkansas State. Battle has averaged 18.1 points per game over his last seven contests.

The matchup pits Texas State’s pursuit of a winning conference record against an Old Dominion team looking to build momentum from its midweek victory. The Bobcats won the last meeting between the programs, 78-71, on Feb. 10, 2025.

Saturday’s game will be the only scheduled meeting this season between the Sun Belt foes. Texas State will look to leverage its home court, where it is 8-4 this season, while Old Dominion aims to improve upon a 2-7 road mark.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026. For Texas State, the game begins a stretch where they will play three of their next four at home. Old Dominion continues a road-heavy portion of its schedule before returning to Norfolk for a three-game homestand in February.
