Golden Bears Edge Hurricanes in ACC Thriller

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — John Camden scored 26 points as California held off Miami 86-85 in a men’s NCAA basketball game Saturday at Watsco Center.

The Golden Bears (16-6) led 45-44 at halftime and maintained a narrow margin throughout a tense second half. The Hurricanes (17-5) had a chance to win after Malik Reneau’s layup cut the deficit to one with under two minutes left, but could not convert again.

Camden’s scoring led California, while Justin Pippen added 17 points and eight assists. Reneau paced Miami with 24 points. Despite shooting 56.9% from the field and dominating paint scoring 48-26, the Hurricanes were undone by poor three-point shooting, making just 4 of 12. California hit 10 three-pointers and secured the road victory in front of 6,513 fans.
