WASHINGTON (Interstat) — American used a strong second half to rally past Colgate 70-66 in a Patriot League men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Bender Arena.

The Eagles, trailing 34-31 at halftime, outscored the Raiders 39-32 after intermission to secure the conference win before an announced crowd of 912. Jalen Cox led all scorers with 21 points for Colgate. American’s Madden Collins scored 12 points and distributed four assists.

Colgate shot just 5 for 18 from 3-point range and 15 for 23 from the free-throw line. American was more efficient, making 8 of 21 from beyond the arc and 12 of 14 from the line. The Eagles improved to 12-8 overall, while the Raiders fell to 11-9.
