CINCINNATI (Interstat) — Jovan Milicevic scored 22 points to lead Xavier to a 97-84 victory over Providence in a Big East men’s basketball game Saturday at Cintas Center. The Musketeers improved to 10-7 overall, while the Friars fell to .500 at 8-8.

Xavier seized control with a 44-35 halftime lead and maintained its efficient offense after the break. The Musketeers shot 49.3% from the floor and committed only three turnovers. Providence, which shot just 25% from 3-point range, was led by Stefan Vaaks with 21 points. Attendance was 9,693.
