North Carolina State at Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging North Carolina State squad aims to continue its climb in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings when it visits a Florida State team seeking consistency Saturday at Donald L. Tucker Center.

The Wolfpack (11-5) enter with momentum from a 79-71 road victory at Boston College on Tuesday. Darrion Williams led the way with 22 points, continuing a strong stretch for the junior guard. Over his last six games, Williams is averaging 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists, including a 17-point effort in a narrow overtime loss to Kansas last month.

Florida State (7-8) is coming off a hard-fought 91-87 home loss to then-Duke on Jan. 3, a game in which it rallied from a 17-point deficit. Dynamic guard Robert McCray V was pivotal in that comeback, scoring 22 points and dishing five assists. The sophomore has been a bright spot, averaging 13.7 points and 7.3 assists per game, including a 21-point, 11-assist double-double against Massachusetts.

The Seminoles’ season has been marked by volatility. They own blowout wins over nonconference foes like Jacksonville and Mississippi Valley State but have struggled against high-major competition, with losses to Houston, Georgia, Texas A&M and a 97-69 defeat at Dayton.

NC State has faced a tougher schedule, with competitive losses to Auburn, Texas and Kansas. Their conference start has been mixed, with a win over Wake Forest and a loss to Virginia preceding the Boston College victory.

The matchup pits NC State’s balanced attack, which saw Matt Able (11 points) and Quadir Copeland (10 assists) contribute significantly Tuesday, against a Florida State offense that leans heavily on McCray’s playmaking and the scoring of Chauncey Wiggins (22 points vs. Duke).

This game opens a critical two-week stretch for both teams. Following this contest, Florida State hits the road for games at Syracuse and Miami, while NC State hosts Georgia Tech before traveling to Clemson.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, in Tallahassee.
