Utah Valley at Abilene Christian

WAC Showdown Features Hot Utah Valley, ACU at Home

ABILENE, Texas (Interstat) — Two Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball teams on different trajectories will meet Saturday when the Utah Valley Wolverines visit the Abilene Christian Wildcats at Moody Coliseum.

Utah Valley (11-3) enters the contest riding a six-game winning streak, its latest a 73-66 victory over California Baptist on Monday. The Wolverines have been dominant during the stretch, winning by an average of 18 points.

The Wolverines are powered by guard Jackson Holcombe, who is averaging 19.2 points over his last six games. He is coming off a 25-point, five-assist performance against California Baptist and has scored 18 or more points in four of those six contests.

Abilene Christian (8-5) snapped a two-game skid with a 75-68 road win at Texas Southern on Dec. 22. The Wildcats have faced a tough non-conference schedule, with losses to Arizona and BYU, but are 5-1 at home this season.

Wildcats guard Bradyn Hubbard will be a key factor, leading the team with 22 points in the win over Texas Southern. He has scored in double figures in three of his last four outings.

The matchup pits Utah Valley’s high-scoring offense, which has topped 90 points twice during its streak, against an Abilene Christian defense that has held opponents to 69 points or fewer in six of its eight wins.

This game marks the conference opener for both teams. Utah Valley will look to continue its momentum on the road, while Abilene Christian aims to defend its home court and hand the Wolverines their first loss since early December.

Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026.
