TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Alcorn State Braves earned their first victory of the season, upsetting the Indiana State Sycamores 81-74 on Friday night. The Braves built a commanding 20-point halftime lead and withstood a furious second-half rally from the Sycamores at Hulman Center. Alcorn State improved its record to 1-7, while Indiana State fell to .500 at 4-4. The result was a surprise as the Sycamores were heavy favorites to win the non-conference matchup.
