Kennesaw State at Florida Gulf Coast

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Interstat) — A pair of 4-2 teams looking to build early-season momentum will meet Wednesday when the Kennesaw State Owls visit the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at Alico Arena.

Both teams are coming off games against Oral Roberts, but with vastly different results. The Eagles held serve at home, defeating Oral Roberts 93-88 on Monday. Michael Duax led the way with 22 points, while Rahmir Barno added 18 points and seven assists.

The Owls, meanwhile, are looking to rebound after a 91-83 road loss to Oral Roberts on Tuesday. The game is the back end of a grueling two-day road trip for Kennesaw State, which outlasted Rice 89-84 in overtime on Monday.

Kennesaw State has shown a potent offense, scoring over 89 points in four of its six games, including a 111-point outburst against Point U. Its two losses, however, have seen the Owls give up an average of 99.5 points.

Florida Gulf Coast has won three of its last four, with the lone blemish in that stretch a one-point home loss to Georgia Southern. The Eagles’ other defeat was a lopsided 113-70 decision on the road against Illinois.

The matchup begins a key stretch for both squads before conference play begins in January.
