Memphis vs. Purdue

NASSAU, The Bahamas (Interstat) — The Purdue Boilermakers, off to a perfect 4-0 start, will face the struggling Memphis Tigers in a non-conference men’s basketball game Thursday at Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium.

Purdue enters the contest following a dominant 97-79 victory over Akron on Sunday. The Boilermakers’ frontcourt was particularly impressive, with Trey Kaufman-Renn recording 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Oscar Cluff adding 14 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Braden Smith facilitated the offense with 16 points and 10 assists. Their resume also includes an 87-80 road win at Alabama.

Memphis (1-2) looks to rebound from a 92-78 home loss to UNLV on Sunday. Julius Thedford led the Tigers with 16 points in the defeat. Memphis’s only win this season was a 76-70 victory over San Francisco on Nov. 8, followed by a road loss to Mississippi.

The neutral-site game in The Bahamas presents a stark contrast in early-season momentum. Purdue’s balanced and powerful attack will test a Memphis team searching for consistency on both ends of the floor.

Following this game, Purdue will host Eastern Illinois on Nov. 28, while Memphis will return home to face Southern Illinois on Nov. 26.
