Providence at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (Interstat) — The undefeated Colorado Buffaloes will put their early-season record on the line Friday when they host the Providence Friars at the Coors Events Center.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with 2-0 records in November. The Buffaloes (2-0) are coming off a 102-97 overtime victory against Eastern Washington on Nov. 8. Sebastian Rancik led the way with 24 points and four assists, while Isaiah Johnson added 17 points.

Providence (2-1) arrives in Boulder with momentum from a dominant 106-81 home win over Penn on Tuesday. Ryan Mela posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in that contest, and Corey Floyd scored 20 points. The Friars’ only blemish is an overtime loss on the road to Virginia Tech on Nov. 8.

The game will be a test for a Colorado team that has shown offensive firepower but needed extra time to secure its last win. Providence presents a balanced attack, with three players scoring 14 or more points in their last outing.

This is the first game of a two-game homestand for Colorado, which hosts Alabama State on Monday. Providence continues its road trip with a game at New Hampshire on Tuesday.
