North Carolina Outlasts Radford Behind Veesaar’s 18 Points
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — Henri Veesaar scored 18 points to lead North Carolina to an 89-74 win over Radford in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at the Dean Smith Center.
The Tar Heels improved to 3-0, while the Highlanders fell to 2-1. North Carolina led 44-31 at halftime and maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the second half. Dennis Parker scored 23 points and Del Jones added 22 for Radford, but the team struggled from the field, shooting just 34.3%. North Carolina’s offense was more efficient, with Luka Bogavac contributing 19 points and five assists. A significant disparity at the free-throw line, where the Tar Heels made 31 of 49 attempts compared to Radford’s 19 of 31, proved decisive.
