Radford at North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — Two undefeated teams will meet Tuesday when the Radford Highlanders visit the No. [rank would be inserted if available] North Carolina Tar Heels in a nonconference men’s basketball game at the Dean Smith Center.

Both teams enter the Nov. 11 contest with 2-0 records. Radford is coming off a 99-61 rout of West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, where Jaylon Johnson scored 16 points and Frederik Erichsen added 13. The Highlanders opened their season with an 80-75 win over Western Illinois.

North Carolina, meanwhile, is riding high after an 87-74 victory over Kansas. Caleb Wilson led the Tar Heels with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Henri Veesaar added 20 points. North Carolina’s season began with a 94-54 blowout of Central Arkansas.

The game marks a significant step up in competition for Radford, a member of the Big South Conference, as they face a perennial Atlantic Coast Conference power on its home court. For the Tar Heels, it is the second of a four-game homestand to open the season before a marquee road test at Kentucky on Dec. 2.

Radford will travel to face South Carolina on Nov. 18 following this contest. North Carolina hosts North Carolina Central on Nov. 14.
