Robert Morris at Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa (Interstat) — The Iowa Hawkeyes will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season at home against the Robert Morris Colonials on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Both teams enter the contest at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with 0-0 records. It marks the first official action for each program since their exits in the 2025 conference tournaments.

The Hawkeyes look to rebound from a 106-94 loss to Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament on March 13, 2025. Iowa will rely on its high-powered offense, which was a hallmark of Fran McCaffery’s teams in previous seasons.

Robert Morris concluded its 2024-25 campaign with an 81-90 loss to Alabama in the College Basketball Invitational on March 21, 2025. The Colonials, members of the Horizon League, face a challenging start to their schedule with this road test against a major conference opponent.

The game serves as the season opener for both squads. For Iowa, it begins a four-game homestand that includes contests against Western Illinois and Xavier. Robert Morris continues a difficult opening road trip, traveling to face Drake on Thursday, Nov. 6.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
